Willing students who have gone through at least one year of McGill are paired up with a new student going into the same program. At the end of the Semester, all students are contacted to ask them if they would like to participate in this service. At the beginning of the next semester, those students who responded are given a short list of one or more students entering their program and are encouraged to reach out to them. The reverse would likely prove to be not so effective, as new students tend to exhibit a certain degree of shyness and unwillingness to extend their boundaries and exploit resources available to them.
